Jelly Beans For Runners

There are a lot 5726500_origof factors that go into running a long run when training for a road race. You need to think about the route you are going to run (which you probably mapped out on Map My Run), what you are going to wear, and just as importantly, what you are going to eat before, during, and after your long run. Let me introduce you to one of my favorite “during the long run” treats, Sport Beans by Jelly Belly. I have tried the goos and gels that are popular among many runners but for some reason, I just can’t get these down while I am running. I don’t like the thick consistency of these products. Sick of the paste-like gels I decided to b
uy a pack of the orange flavored Sport Beans. It seemed like a no-brainer to me as the jelly bean is one of my favorite candies. As soon as I purchased my pack of beans and buckled up, I tore the little bag open. Delicious. Easy to take down. Much more appealing to me than anything else I had tried in the past. Each pack which is small enough to carry along with you on a run, provides 100 calories and 25 grams of much needed carbohydrates as well as electrolytes to help you refuel instantly. There has even been research conducted by the University of California at Davis Sports Medicine Program to show the benefits of these tasty little runner candies.
